You Did It!

One of my favorite lines in the movie Elf is when he walks into the coffee shop and says, "You did it! Congratulations! World's best cup of coffee! Great job, everybody! It's great to be here."  The obvious poke is that perhaps they are not truly offering the world's best cup of coffee.

Recently we received an award from our phone company "Fast-Growing Business Award 2013" all because we increased the number of lines we use in our office.  It's always nice to be acknowledged for our accomplishments.

This last year we have been blessed to work on some truly creative projects with so many amazing people.  There are countless awards we could genuinely bestow to each and every team:

Best Team Collaboration for all the groups that made our jobs so much more fun with the energy and innovation as we walked through each and every step of the process.

Most Creative Theming could not go to just one project.  With each and every project there was great momentum in dreaming big.  This type of dreaming inspires the whole Wow! team.

Greatest Use of Space was consistently a theme throughout the year.  Incorporating theming and play into a space takes careful planning, thoughtfulness and a whole lot of experience and ingenuity.

A big THANK YOU to each and every person we have had the honor of working with this year.  We look forward to continuing our partnership with you and the new faces and spaces we will have the opportunity of engaging in 2014!

Go and Make Disciples...

When we say the word "church" today, it no longer brings to mind the image of one building, two prominent white doors at a single point of entry, tall steeple, one gathering room.  It use to be when you said you were going to church, everyone knew it was the church down the street and around the corner.  Today, you can say, "I go to Gateway" or "I go to Eagle Brook" and that no longer means the one location everyone in the area is familiar with.  The question now is, which one?

The multi-site movement has become the physical representation of going and making disciples.  The multi-location church is the true essence of going out into the communities and meeting people where they are rather than waiting for the community to come to it.  We have the genuine mindset of asking ourselves the question, how can we reach more people with The Gospel?  And through the various location types - the strip mall, the movie theater, the school, the new building - people's lives are being changed.

City Church Children's Theming Just Got a Little Bit More Colorful

Children's Ministry theming can come in all shapes and sizes.. literally! City Church in Tallahassee, FL desired a "no-theme" environment rather than an illustrative. What fun designing around this former retail store with bold colors and a great variety of shapes.

A Church Fit for a King!

You guys are amazing. We were stunned at how amazing everything turned out. Stunned. The castle was over the top and the tubes were over-filled.  ~Jon Scott | Director of Special Projects
Every project is a blessing to be a part of and each project has its own unique meaning to the Wow! team.  But every so often there is a project that makes us stand back and just say "Wow!".  Church of the King in Mandevill, LA is one of those projects!  Whether it was cutting and painting each shingle or designing the princess and knight cut-out, watching our artistic crew care for each of the details was so much fun.  Thank you, Church of the King for letting us be part of such an amazing project!

The Bayou and the South Go Hand-in-Hand!

What a fun design for this dental office in Louisiana.  Playing off the influence of the local surroundings, the bayou has been brought to life.  Don’t miss the details of each element:
  • 3D Alligator
  • Incorporated flooring
  • Wood grain and rope texture of the check-in
  • Every room is included in the theming, no detail too small
Stay tuned for the final installation pictures!!

A-mazing Children's Theming at West End Community Church | Nashville, TN

West End Community Church in Nashville, TN is truly focused on discipling the next generation.  In designing their new children's space, the goal was to genuinely live out the statement Judy, the Children's Director, regularly says - seeing kids' lives transformed by the Gospel!  They desire for the kids in their ministry to really HEAR the Gospel.

Together we focused on ages birth thru 6th grade.  This amazing ministry team wanted to see kids running to class because they are so excited to be there.  AMAZING.. CREATIVE.. INTERACTIVE... Job well done, team!

No Such Thing As A Space Too Small...

Reagan sends a word of encouragement to churches - anyone can have an amazing kids ministry space regardless of size.  Read the following excerpt from an article as published in Worship Facilities, Sep/Oct 2013.
Worlds of Wow, an Argyle, Texas-based design company that focuses on creating kids’ ministry spaces, is also a proponent of using color to help in tight spaces. Reagan Hiller, company president, draws on past experience in the amusement park industry and uses it to take children’s church décor to a new level. In counseling ministry leaders with a tight budget, Hiller says that it is imperative not to settle on boring—even though a space may be challenging.
“Do something, even if minor,” Hillier says. “Freshen up the space with a brand new color palette that is bright and open, making the space seem larger than it is.”
Hiller advises that the confines of small spaces make it imperative not to try to do too much. Along with that, removing clutter is essential, because cleaning up a space can actually make it seem bigger. He believes that any space, regardless of size, can create an engaging environment when it is used effectively.
“We want every church to have an inviting, effective kids’ ministry environment, no matter what type of space they have to work with,” he says.
“It's important to not overwhelm visually with too many items or too much density [in tight spaces]. We can often utilize the tighter space into a specific theme and turn it into a destination of the storyline.”
