Questions to Ask Before Theming your Children's Area!
There are a few things to consider when beginning the process of creating an intentionally inviting environment. One of those things that we strongly encourage is to do your homework!
There are a lot of theming companies out there, so do your homework! Begin by interviewing them. What services do they provide? Worlds of Wow is the only company that provides theme and play under one roof. From the very beginning stages of the creative process all the way through install, Worlds of Wow is with you every step of the way. We know what it takes to not only start the process but how to manage the project through completion so that you and your team can sit back and watch your ideas come to life! How long have they been in existence? Longevity can provide great reassurance that the company knows what they are doing. We opened our doors 13 years and have completed over 600 projects. All of our projects are custom to you and your facility! Why is this important? 2 reasons, identity and intentionality. Having your culture shown on the walls of your building not only sets you apart but shows parents that you care about the community. How many churches have they served? A deep and diverse portfolio will communicate the true abilities of the company. Do they have the knowledge, ability and resources to incorporate all of your design needs? So many churches are looking beyond the paint on the walls; they want indoor play structures, fun and engaging teaching stations, out-of-this-world 3-D pieces. Don’t limit your vision because of another’s inexperience or lack of resources.
Request a list of references and take the time to call them, and if possible, go visit their completed projects. This will give you a better sense of who you are considering for such a personal task. Know what matters most to your ministry and ensure the prospective company is aligned with you. Whether in person or over the phone, truly take the time to understand who you are considering working with.

The work we do at Worlds of Wow is all focused on creating worlds that are extraordinary.
When we help you and your business, organization, or family create a theme, the world is simply your oyster! We’ve got tons of ideas that we’re eager to get started working on, but we’ll slow it down and give you a glimpse into what all we have to offer. At Worlds of Wow, we take you and your staff, your church leaders, or your family through a creative brief to fully understand your DNA. What’s at the heart of your office culture? What are you hoping to share with the world in this new space you are creating? What’s your vision? What are your goals? What are you hoping this space will bring to your family that may not have been there before?
Worlds of Wow couldn’t be more convenient, either. In this line of business, sometimes design is separate from construction, which can be a little tricky. Luckily, we combine theming and play together. We’ll sketch the plans and know just what needs to be done when we’re in the process of construction. We wanted to build our business on the foundation of both of these because, in the end, having continuity is important, especially when it comes to designs that will be as unique as yours will be. Budget also comes into play when you’re working with two separate entities. Like we said, we prefer to keep it simple. 
People decide within the first 7 minutes of being in your church whether or not they see themselves and their family as becoming members. Seven minutes isn’t very much time, which is why it’s important to have clear signage, directions to the important locations, and an emphasis on what matters most, like children’s centers and community gathering spaces. If you imagine your own church or community center, where is the focus on value? What does the children’s area look like in your own church or community center? If you were viewing your family spaces with a perspective as if you were a first-timer coming to visit, what would you see? Would you want to change anything about the way the space is designed?
Our hope is that when we produce the art that will ultimately change the way your public spaces are viewed, your music, your ministry, your staff, your pastor, your traditions, and your people will feel the positive impact. When you transform the same-old, same-old into something that is truly extraordinary, something special happens. We’ve seen it time and time again. Benefits of Interactive Play
Unstructured play is the best type of play for young children. Create an immersive and interactive environment and watch their imagination run wild. This allows children of all ages to learn at their own pace, and participate in creative play alone or with others. Worlds of Wow Wraps Presents to Support the Children of Fallen Heroes
A Day of Caring with Worlds of Wow!
The Worlds of Wow team had a great time wrapping gifts at the Soldier's Child Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to supporting the children of our country's fallen heroes through birthday celebrations, mentorship programs, and college scholarships. Thanks to Owens & Minor Distribution Facility opening their doors to accommodate so many volunteers! We were excited to see the amount of people participating for such a good cause.
Worlds of Wow had members from different departments participating and helping wrap gifts; and we even created our own ‘mini-assembly line,’ to speed up the process! The art department used their skills to draw different characters and animations to make these gifts personal and fun for the children. Overall, we wrapped over 200 gifts and decorated over 25 boxes. We are so excited to have supported such a great cause and make a difference for these children.

Tips for a child-friendly environment!
The first impression
As always, the first impression leads the way to how the child will feel and behave. For instance, think of your reception desk/check-in area: can you imagine how a child will feel walking in and the only thing they see is a big wall blocking anyone who is behind the desk. If you can't lower your desk, ask your staff to stand up and lean over the desk to greet the child personally to make them feel welcome. The choice of colors on your walls also makes a huge difference. The sleek steel and updated, clean décor may look pristine to adults, but it is not an environment a child will feel comfortable in. In contrast, bright colors such as blue, pink, green, orange or yellow will have a calming and welcoming effect on kids. The check-in area is one of the most important areas to look at when thinking of ways to make your environment more kid-friendly!
You have one opportunity, so make it count!
First time visits can be very scary for your newcomers. Make the children's area a destination they will feel comfortable in as well an area they KNOW they belong! A pleasant first experience can lead to increased attendance, new guests, and transformational experiences.

Worlds of Wow TMAC and Production
At Worlds of Wow, we are continuously looking for new ways to improve our process and create better customer experiences. With the help of Joe Crosswell and TMAC, we were given great tools to become more productive and sustainable.

Worlds of Wow is one of the very few companies in the United States specializing in custom theming and play. With over 12 years experience and more that 500 projects completed, Worlds of Wow is the expert in creating original artwork and graphics to bring ideals to life! So much passion, time and talent goes into each and every project. From the very first conversation to the final piece put into place, their team gives 100% each step of the way! When customers are able to sit back and take in the delivered final masterpiece, it brings them tremendous joy to hear them say, "WOW!"
Worlds of Wow recently relocated from Argyle, TX to a larger facility in Denton. They were interested in maximizing their ability to increase production to support continued growth. Worlds of Wow contacted the TMAC office for help in improving their workflow through the manufacturing process.
Joe Crosswalk from TMAC visited the facility and after a tour of the shop recommended the implementation of some basic lean principals including reorganizing work areas to improve flow with 5S. Joe also implemented the creation of the "white board," to provide visibility of each project as it moved throughout the production process. Joe then worked with the Wow team to conduct lean wastes walks to identify activated that were not adding value to the projects completed.
Thanks to the EPA grant, TMAC was then able to provide Wow with an opportunity to deliver an onsite training program to help staff understand how to identify all types of wastes including lean, energy and environmental wastes. Value stream mapping (VSM) proved to be a tool and foundation to demonstrate the importance of the total cycle time required to complete a project.
The project included class room training followed by walks to the production floor as a cross functional team including artists, managers and production staff identified various wastes as they followed the product through its flow throughout the facility.
The team learned how to video an artist at work to determine is each step of the process was either value or non-value added in the eyes of their customers. Each step of the process was then recorded on a process breakdown sheet. Simple changes of locating tools and equipment close to the work station would allow the artist more time to create and less time walking or searching for items.
The team next took a close look at opportunities to reduce energy costs in the building. They are now also considering ways to bring natural daylight into the facility to improve staff performance. The team also took a close look at everything that was thrown away to question solid and liquid wastes were being generated. They identified an opportunity to donate waste foam pieces to a local non-profit to reduce their impact to the landfill.
The results:
Expected quantitative impacts include;
