Anthony's been with Worlds of Wow since August of 2010 and has been on staff at three mega churches, worked in the Audio/Video industry and consulted with hundreds of churches. Our team has just finished out the second phase of a new digital theming project at White's Chapel United Methodist Church in Southlake, TX. Leila Carlson, the Director of Children's Ministries, shared her excitement about the latest addition: "I am thrilled with the project!!! The guys did an amazing job of installing everything and they are always delightful to be around!"

This project included creating a whimsical, bright Faithville. One hallway is the Zoo, another is an amusement and water park, and the others include a sports/fitness park, city hall, bakery and shoppes. Together, they make up Faithville for preschool and elementary-aged kids.

Preschool Project Completed at Calvary Baptist Church in Clearwater, FL

Our team was able to work with an existing theme concept and add new elements and artwork in the new construction of a Preschool area as well as incorporate theming into the existing children's space.

The project with Calvary Baptist in Clearwater, Florida, was a significant upgrade from the previous theme. Part of their issue was the peeling stickers and decals used by the original theme company. Our team replaced the peeling decals by painting airbrushed appliqués on-site to both remedy the problem and add a 2D relief to the walls for a cleaner look and feel.

We also added a new soft-contained play structure that is used during weekend and weekday services, but is also available for use by members who want to host kids' birthday parties, which is a great outreach opportunity for friends and parents invited to the parties.

Here are a few photos from this vibrant Preschool area, thanks to Howard Parker, Church Administrator at Calvary Baptist.

Overlake Christian Church Theme Complete!

Worlds of Wow just completed Overlake Christian Church's theme in Redmond, Washington. The project included a train station look-and-feel with a timeless Main Street style that was both fun for kids and full of wow-factor for parents.

For over seven years, Worlds of Wow has been creating fantastic theming for churches. We're known for our gold-standard work on indoor themed environments, so we wanted to take that theming outdoors! Today, we are excited to announce our newest offering, ThemePlay, amazing themed outdoor playgrounds!

Gateway Church, Frisco, TX install underway

We're now working on the 3rd campus of Gateway Church (Southlake, Texas), with their newest satellite campus located in Frisco, Texas. Gateway Church continues to be amazing to partner with and our install crew is busy working on the new children's area theming, which carries on the same theme consistency across all three campuses.

Themed Kids Ministry at Houston Northwest Church

Our friends at Houston Northwest Church (yep, in the northwest part of Houston, TX) are one of our newer digital projects. Most of the theming is done with digitally-produced artwork, and the results are just amazing!

We're excited to share these pictures we took on a recent visit to show you the fun, bright and inviting kids area of this fast-growing church.

We are thankful to God for using us as His vehicle for transforming children's ministry spaces to His glory, not ours.

Second Baptist Houston - Amazing Theming!

We're so excited to reveal the incredible theming our team completed at Second Baptist Church in Houston, Texas! The project included 18 classrooms, hallways and a large group space. Many of the classrooms are also used by Second Baptist School, a Christian college preparatory school for Pre-K through 12th grade.
Each of the classrooms incorporated a teaching station for showing videos or puppets, while also combining secure storage. We're thrilled with this project, and so are the children's ministry staff at the church and school! We took lots of fun photos and even some new panoramic pictures!

These are only a few of the classrooms and walls that we themed for this fun project. As we finished our tour of the completed building, we loved hearing from the church and school teachers how their students love the new themes and that they're even naming the characters in each room!

Memorial Baptist Church - Expedition Theme Completed!

This past month, we completed the new theme for Memorial Baptist Church of Bayside, Texas as they finalized their renovation project. The theme was adventurous with "Expedition Company" chosen. Custom branding, detailed airbrushed wall murals, 2D appliques and even a 3D tent entrance for thier children's large group room all came together in July.

The church's minister to children, Kay McDaniel, and the rest of the intrepid team at Memorial were great to partner with on this exciting adventure!

A Day at Trinity Kids Beach Playland

You can almost hear the waves lapping upon the shore as we brought this themed environment to life at Trinity Baptist Church in Lake Charles, Louisiana! We've had a lot of churches ask about this project because it combines our unique artistic flair, detailed airbrush work, 2D and 3D elements and climb-and-play sets for the kids to explore.

Part of the fun in our projects is the seamless integration of interactive play spaces, including slides and themed soft foam, along with the atmospheric theming that excites the imagination. Welcome Anthony Coppedge to the Worlds of Wow Team!

We are very excited to welcome Anthony Coppedge to our team! Anthony brings a wealth of ministry, marketing and sales experience to our growing family. We've always wanted to say we have a pro-blogger and author on staff and now we can! Anthony has been on staff at three mega-churches, worked with and consulted with over 500 more and joins us after a successful career with Fellowship Technologies, makers of Fellowship One church management software.

Anthony is extremely Kingdom-minded and is involved in several lay leadership teams involved with the strategic planning for the continued growth at Gateway Church in Southlake, Texas. He's an ENTJ (Myers Briggs) and his top 5 strengths are Strategic, Ideation, Activator, Realtor and Competition (StrengthsFinder 2.0). He is husband to his bride Babs, dad to four kids (currently ages 16, 15, 14 and 8) and lives in Roanoke, Texas. Gateway Church - Southlake, TX

The emphasis on reaching kids and families is evident at Gateway Church in Southlake, Texas, as they new campus opened in November, 2010 that included a 67,000 square foot children’s building called God’s Amazement Park.

The amusement park theme was realized through a highly collaborative team effort. Ken & Mary Jackson, Children's pastors at the church, had a strong vision for creating a visually immersive experience for kids and parents, so the artists at Worlds of Wow came up with a full theming concept that includes multiple tracks of roller coasters that come out of ceilings, burst through walls and even adorn ceilings and walls in hallways and large group rooms.

The church made a significant effort to theme each area that stuck with the God's Amazement Park story arch, yet included artwork, scenes and destinations that included artwork and attractions that were age-appropriate.

As the pictures below show, this is one spectacular project. From the huge emphasis on making Check-in obvious and easy for first time guests to extra wide hallways to the large sculpted 3D characters and soft contained play units for different ages, God's Amazement Park shines as a fun, timeless and immersive experience that has kids excited to come and bring their friends.

1. Amusement Park – What creates the sense of excitement when you’re there? Sounds? Smells? How do they direct you to each attraction? What rides are the most popular and why? What peripheral activities attract kids?

2. Children’s Museum – Interactivity is king here. Note the play features that draw kids and why. How can you incorporate similar type gadgets and gizmos for kids to interact with each week?

3. Other Churches – See the newly built facilities and others that have been remodeled? What can you incorporate? It’s also helpful to see a few different denominations to get some different perspectives.

4. TV – Watch a few of the shows that the kids are watching. What are the backdrops? What media are they using? Colors being used?

How Do I Get Started - Partnering With Worlds of Wow

Our hope is these words reflect every phase on every project in every situation when choosing Wow. Oftentimes we’re asked the question “How does a church start the process of working with Worlds of Wow?” Here’s a quick rundown of how we partner with you.

1. Initial Contact
Phone, email, text, face-to-face, video chat, however it happens this is how it all starts. So let’s talk. We love to visit with you about your space, dreams, ideas and vision.

2. Design Consultation
This gets the process really started. Once you sign our Design Agreement we do an onsite and/or virtual consult to generate our Creative Brief. This is where we get familiar with your space, facility, vision, style, budget and more. Typically it’s a one-day visit that includes lots of meetings and lots of fun!

3. Artwork Phase
This is where your dreams and ideas come to life on paper. We start with rough black & white sketches and seek your feedback. Sometimes we hit a home run the very first round, sometimes it takes a few rounds of renderings to get it just right. We then wrap up this phase with the Production Agreement, basically the written document of what’s in the renderings and the work we’ll be doing for you (and the fun part – the price!).

4. Pre-Production Phase
Our Pre-Production team takes the signed Production Agreement and starts thinking through every element’s placement, look and construction. Lots of theme and play focused questions in this phase along with some production renderings for you to approve.

5. Production Phase
Now we’re making your items. Coordinating with your contractor, our install team and your church as we are producing the 2D appliqués, 3D elements and play attractions.

6. Installation Phase
Our install team is coordinated, the items are shipped to your site and the install begins. The size of project always dictates actual time on site, but typically it’s about 12-14 days. We work 10-12 hours per day but not on Sunday. This is a really fun time for you to see the transformation taking place. By the way, our on site crews are the best around. You will love them. The Final Sign Off form is what both you and Wow are looking for to complete the project. We want you to be happy, very happy.

7. Enjoyment phase!
This is where you and your team enjoy the fabulous environment that Worlds of Wow has created. Remember, our mission is to transform the way churches reach the next generation!

3 Reasons to Start a Birthday Party Ministry

1. Reach New Families – This ministry could quite possibly be your church’s #1 outreach opportunity. When I have a party for my daughter, we invite her friends from the soccer team, neighborhood, school, tumbling, cousins and more. Having the party at church provides an opportunity for all these different groups to visit your church when they might not have otherwise. When they have a wonderfully fun time on Saturday, where will they want to go back to on Sunday?
2. Maximize Your Investment – If you already have a space that appeals to kids and have spent money on play attractions, themed areas or something similar, why not maximize your investment by using it as many times during the week as possible?
3. We Can Do Better – When we’re hosting birthday parties at church, our goal isn’t just to facilitate a fun time. We are there to minister to them as well. No other location for birthday parties can match our desire to encourage and welcome families and kids like the church can.

3 Most Important Spaces for a Wow Factor

1. Entry – This delivers the first impression for your guests but also for the kids each and every time the come to church. Set the tone for their experience no matter if it’s the first or hundredth time they’ve come to church that it’s going to be a fun experience to learn more about Jesus.

2. Signage – If you walked into your building and hadn’t been there before would you easily know where to go? Prominent, clear wayfinding signage points the way for families and kids to find where they should be. Add some themed element or your logo and the kids will identify it immediately.

3. Large Group – Want to grab the attention of your kids in large group during worship or teaching? Give them something to be drawn toward and focus their attention where you are. Create a backstage area with multiple ways to enter/exit the stage.
